Keep
Cashmere Sweaters Looking and Feeling New!
Your cashmere sweaters should be cared for
with extra gentle handling so that you may enjoy
them for years to come. Listed below are some
steps you may take, as well as some precautions
you should adhere to, in order to "preserve"
your beautiful cashmere sweaters.
Stains, such as those from antiperspirants or
deodorants, quite commonly occur on garments. In
order to prevent these stains from appearing on
your nice cashmere sweaters, make sure that you
always let your antiperspirant or deodorant
completely dry before putting on your cashmere
sweater. This will prevent those unsightly white
marks from appearing on your nice sweaters.
Perfumes and colognes may also stain your nice
cashmere sweaters. Therefore, if you are going
to wear perfume or cologne, do not spritz your
perfume or cologne into the air then walk
through it while wearing your cashmere garment.
Instead, either spray or dab your perfume or
cologne directly onto your skin. Then allow it
to completely dry before getting dressed.
Before and/or after wearing your nice cashmere
sweaters, air fluff them to freshen them. This
process will also remove any impurities that may
linger on the sweater. (Make sure to use the
cool air fluff cycle of your dryer, and only
leave the sweater in the dryer for a few
minutes.) Never use heat to dry your fine
sweaters.
To achieve a luxurious scent, wrap a bar of
nice-smelling French milled soap in a
handkerchief, then tuck it under your sweater.
The scent will linger in your sweater and give
it a light fragrant scent. |
