Fun with Adding Color to Clothes

Although basic colors are the foundation of your wardrobe, it is nice to add a splash or two of color to enhance your wardrobe. Your personality can be reflected in the colors your choose to wear.

Find the colors that flatter your skin tones. You may do this by holding various color swatches up to your face to determine which colors and hues flatter you.

Then determine what colors coordinate well with your current wardrobe. You may narrow the selection down to about three new vibrant colors.

You may accessorize your wardrobe by adding bright colored items such as a scarf, camisole or jewelry. You can also wear a bright colored pair of shoes rather than basic black sandals or pumps.

Pastels or bright colors may be used to express yourself, in whatever mood you are in at the time. This could mean red for power; pink for flirting; black for chicness; cool blues for tranquility, etc.

When you are experimenting with color in your wardrobe, you should not deviate too far from your normal style and appearance. For example, if you normally wear beiges or other neutral colors, bright colors, such as fuchsia would be too much of a contrast.

You do not need to adhere to certain colors due your skin, hair or eye colors. Most women cosmetically alter their hair color anyway; and many women tan their skin either with cosmetics or suntans.

Keep in mind that you should put bright colors near your best assets because the bright colors will draw attention to those areas, which you want to highlight.

You may also experiment with certain colors in your makeup palette, such as fuchsias for your lips and nails. Then determine the specific shades for your foundation and blush.

Color can be fun, therefore, use it to enhance your wardrobe and overall appearance.
